The name of Alexander Kanevsky is widely known to the modern world. Many call him "Alexander the Great of Art". The world's best art critics Vittorio Sgarbi, Paolo Levi and Giammarco Puntelli declare Alexander Kanevsky a "genius" and "one of the most important visionaries of our time and the future." In Italy, during the 2013 Venice Art Biennale, where his paintings were exhibited, Alexander was named “the most outstanding artist who ever lived on Earth”. Alexander Kanevsky was born in Tula (Russia) on November 15, 1959. He started painting at the age of 3. In 1983 he graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Medical Institute, worked in the field of surgical oncology. In 1990 he immigrated to the United States and in 1991 he held his first art exhibitions in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania). The first international exhibitions with his participation were held in Soho, New York (USA) and Barcelona (Spain) in 1996. In 1997, he completed his first triptych, Creation, which was displayed at the BAI gallery of the Guggenheim Museum in Soho. In the same year, his works were presented in Bologna (Italy), Tokyo (Japan) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates). He received the First International Fine Arts Prize in Venice (Italy) in 1999. In 2000, The New York Times published an article about his painting "Couple". In 2000-2001, Alexander received the status of a national cultural media celebrity in the United States. Kanevsky's paintings "Hamlet" and "King Lear" were acquired by the London Royal Shakespeare Theater "Globe" (England), and the painting "Alexander on the Tomb of Achilles" - by the theater director Peter Kyle in 2003. Since 2001 he has exhibited at his galleries in New Haven (Connecticut) and Princeton (New Jersey). In 2010 the catalog "Kanevsky: the genius of vision" was published. Alexander was selected as Guest of Honor at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in the United States. He exhibited at the M.A.C.I.A. during the 55th Venice Biennale. Alexander's paintings were acquired by Villa Sacro Cuore and the Milan Museum of Art and Science in 2013. In 2014, he received a special award in Italy at the First Biennale of Creativity in Verona and the title "Maestro d'Arte". In the same year he received the Premio della Critica Prize, the Conca d'Oro Prize and the Diana Musolino Painting Prize (Premio Pittura) in Italy. Kanevsky was awarded the titles "Great in Art", "Best Artist in the World (in terms of stylistic value)" (Eiffel Tower, Paris, 2014); The Most Significant Artist of Our Time (Critics of 4 Continents, 2016); Artist of the Year (Encyclopedia of Italian Art, 2015). Alexander Kanevsky represented world artistic achievements at Milan Expo2015. In 2017, in Venice, he presented the world-famous painting “God’s Kingdom” and was hailed as the creator of “The 9th Wonder of the World”. Alexander's personal exhibitions were held in major museums in America, Spain, Italy, France. Alexander has created over 3000 paintings and has been the subject of over 100 interviews, articles and other publications. Many publications are devoted to the work of Alexander Kanevsky in major publications in the USA and Italy, such as, for example, the Catalog of Contemporary Art by Giorgio Mondadori 2014-2017; Annual issue of the Encyclopedia of Italian Art (since 2014); "Kanevsky: the genius of vision" (Art Album, USA, 2010); International art magazine "ArteIn World" (2015-2017); A series of books on art, published by G. Mondadori "Le Scelte di Puntelli" (2015, 2016) and many others. Dr. Alexander Kanevsky's paintings are in prestigious collections, such as: Pope Francis (2016); London's Royal Shakespeare Globe (2003-2010), Monastic Museum (2016); Museum of Art and Science, Milan (2013); Vatican Villa Sacro Cuore (2013); Museum of Sacred Art (MOSA), Florence (2016); Gallery of Sacred Art, Villa Clerici, Milan (Villa Clerici, 2015); Museum of San Giovanni Agostiniani (Museo San Giovanni Agostiniani), Fivizzano (Fivizzano, 2016); D'E.M. Alexander Kanevsky is a guest of honor at major events in the field of art, including: "Anniversary of Mercy" (Rome, 2016); Milan Expo 2015 (Milan Expo2015); International Art Expo at the Venice Biennale 2019; Sundance Film Festival 2013; Barcelona Biennale 2015, US Embassy-sponsored American Presidential Election Event, Palazzo Ferrajoli, Rome; La Grande Exposition Universelle, Eiffel Tower, Paris (2014); Verona Triennale (2016); Biennale Venezia Mestre (2017). The Jewish theme in the work of Alexander Kanevsky is, of course, one of the dominant ones, biblical stories prevail. Alexander is described by many print media as the world painter of the scriptures. The outstanding Jewish Italian art critic Paolo Levi called Kanevsky's art a prophecy "through which God speaks to us", and about the artist himself he said: "Alexander Kanevsky is the largest and only significant Jewish artist in world history." * * * Alexander Kanevsky is a multi-talented person. In addition to creating paintings, he also writes prose and poetry, works as a doctor, practices martial arts (he is the only foreigner who lived in the Shaolin Monastery), ran for governor of Connecticut, was a theater director, actor, pianist and opera singer, fluent in several languages. In many articles and publications, he is called a super-renaissance man and the most interesting person living in the modern world. Alexander currently lives and works in Princeton, New Jersey.
